Rocky start for this transport

Well, it finally happened — everyone,  including me — at a transport hand-off  Saturday morning in Chattanooga forgot the paperwork,  and we made the transport an hour late as we backtracked and front-tracked to get the documents in the same vehicle as the dogs.

We were transporting some puppies and a nursing mom and pup. Then we almost lost a dog at the hand-off in Nashville, when mommy dog broke loose and started scampering around a busy parking lot. We got her back, so all’s well that ends well, I guess.

But, two lessons learned. Always get the paperwork first, then transfer the dogs. And, a slip leash should be put on every adult dog coming out of a crate, if only temporarily. We’ve heard plenty of horror stories about dogs slipping collars.
